The global launch of the Huawei P20 series handsets was on March 27 in Paris. But today, on April 12, the manufacturer launched the P20, P20 Pro and Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design in China. Actually, these are the same products. But they cost less because the company has a special pricing strategy – it brings all top-notch and trendy features to Chinese customers at a lower price tag. The P20 and its siblings are no exception.
Unlike the Huawei P20 Pro, which is the world’s first tri-camera handset, the P20 comes with a dual-camera. But it is a high-end device with tons of impressive specs. It is packed with a 5.8-inch full-screen with a resolution of 2240×1080 pixels. Of course, it uses the iPhone X-like bangs screen, but there is a home button below it as well. As you can guess, the home button also carries a fingerprint reader. But the Huawei P20 supports face unlock function at 0.6 seconds operation speed.
Under the hood, the Huawei P20 carries a Kirin 970 chip, which is paired with a 4/6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of internal storage, and 3400mAh battery. The phone runs on EMUI 8.1 based on Android 8.1. in terms of photography, the P20 uses a 12+20MP (color + white/black) dual-camera with Leica optics, 1.55μm large pixel size, f/1.8+f/1.6 large aperture, CMOS size of 1/2.3 inch, 2x hybrid zoom, and 10x digital zoom support.
There are five color options to choose from – Aurora, Sapphire Blue, Cherry Pink, Bright Black, and Champagne Gold. They are all constructed using structural color plating technology. The Huawei P20 4+128GB is priced at $285, while the 6+128GB model is available at $303.
